1b1r valves are shut-off devices designed to control the water supply in fire extinguishing systems. They are used as part of fire-fighting fittings on pipelines with a nominal bore diameter of DN 50 or DN 65. The body of the 1b1r valves is made of brass, which ensures high corrosion resistance and durability during operation. Sealing elements are made of rubber, and the spindle has a gland seal to prevent leaks.
Design and operating features
The valve consists of two main parts:
- Body, which contains the “saddle” mechanism for shutting off the water flow.
- Rotary valve head with manual drive (wheel).
The valve is opened manually by rotating the wheel counterclockwise. Five full turns of the wheel are required to fully open it. The design ensures smooth spindle movement, which makes it easier to operate the valve.
The main advantages of the 1b1r valve
- High reliability due to the brass body and high-quality sealing materials.
- Easy to install and maintain.
- Durability - the average service life is up to 15 years with proper operation.
Application
The valve is used mainly in fire extinguishing systems:
- Installed inside fire cabinets.
- It is used to supply water through hoses with a fire nozzle during fire extinguishing.
It can also be used in other water supply areas where a reliable shut-off device for water is required at a low temperature of the working environment (+50°C) and a pressure of up to 10 kg/cm².
