Valve 15kch888r is a diaphragm shut-off valve with an electromagnetic actuator designed to completely shut off flow of the working medium. It is used as a remotely controlled shut-off valve on pipelines transporting fresh water, air, or brine. The operating temperature of the medium varies within the following ranges:
- Fresh water: from +1 to +45 °C.
- Air: from 0 to +45 °C.
- Brine: from -40 to +45 °C.
Design and Operating Principle
The 15kch888r valve is equipped with an electromagnetic actuator (solenoid) that controls the shut-off mechanism without the need for mechanical intervention. The main components of the design include:
- Body: made of ductile iron.
- Shut-off mechanism: consists of a spool with a rubber seal and a diaphragm.
- Electromagnetic actuator: hermetically protected by a plastic housing to prevent moisture exposure.
Operating principle of the valve is as follows:
- In the normal state (without voltage applied), the valve remains closed due to the pressure of the spring and the working medium above the diaphragm.
- When electric current is applied to the solenoid coil, the armature of the electromagnet lifts, opening the relief hole. This reduces the pressure above the diaphragm, causing the shut-off mechanism to move upward and open the passage for the working medium.
- When the voltage is turned off, the armature returns to its original position, the pressure above the diaphragm is restored, and the shut-off mechanism closes the flow again.
For emergency opening of the valve, a special screw is provided to manually lift the spool.
Operating Conditions
To ensure proper operation of the 15kch888r valve, the following conditions must be met:
- Installation is only possible on a horizontal pipeline with the electromagnetic actuator facing upward. A deviation from the vertical by up to ±15° is allowed.
- The working medium must flow strictly in the direction of the arrow on the valve body.
- Before commissioning, trial operations must be conducted to check the tightness and functionality of the device.
